"It doesn't take a lot of money or time to do something little and simple that makes clients feel valued. Such a huge difference from just shipping them a flash drive in an envelope."

What type of photography do you shoot?
Weddings, Babies, Boudoir

When did you first join the Kraft & Jute family?:
May 2012

What steps did you go through when creating your packaging? Any advice to photographers beginning to use packaging?:
My style is earthy and organic so Kraft & Jute is the perfect complement. I have tried different variations through the years but I always come back to simple. I love the burlap and the jute twine. I use the recycled tags as well for labels - all Kraft & Jute products. Many of my clients will send me photos of their packages or email me telling me how cute it is. The personalization makes them feel special. It doesn't take a lot of money or time to do something little and simple that makes clients feel valued. Such a huge difference from just shipping them a flash drive in an envelope.

Advice? Packaging and branding matters. Start simple. Incorporate your brand, colors, feel. Hand-write a letter of thanks to your client. Hand-written letters are somewhat of a lost art. We are all busy, but take the time to write even a small note of thanks - it goes a long way. 90% of my clients come to me from referrals. Kraft & Jute is a part of why I am consistently referred.

Why do you feel that packaging is so important to your brand?:
Packaging shows consistency in who you are as a brand. I feel that you can't provide great service, great photos and then drop the ball with packaging. Even if it's a simple ensemble - it is better and more personalized - and equally important - parallels your brand. That little orange butterfly symbolizes my brand. I try to include it in everything. It fits so nicely with Kraft & Jute products because of the natural, earthy flow of my brand to their products. Clients seeing that repetition not only embeds my brand into their heads but each time they see a butterfly or something butterfly related? Guess who gets a text and photo? Me. :) Even if you keep it simple, just do it. Branding matters.

Name your favorite Kraft & Jute packaging product that you can't live without:
Definitely the Mini Flash Drive Pouch (Brown Burlap). I love all the sizes and varieties - but that is my favorite.

Best advice that you've ever been given in your photography career?:
Develop a process and stay consistent. There are a million options out there. A million presets and actions. A million ways to edit. Find your flow and rhythm to working post-process and also with how you present to your product to your clients. Stay consistent. That consistency builds recognition and a brand.

3.0 Speed and 16GB USBs for photography packaging... that's how we do it

So what's the big deal?

Well the big deal is that by us focusing on just one speed (the fastest) and one size (the most common) we can offer you these two features at the same cost that you used to be able to buy an 8GB 2.0 USB drive at in the past.
